Come to the Canberra handmake market THIS saturday and see how busy all of the local canberra crafties have been!!! It is for a fabulous cause and a whole lot of fun!
It will be a first for me personally as it will be Capturing Essence's FIRST... MAIDEN stand anywhere :)
I am thrilled... also a little tired but i am slowly getting prepared!!!!

Wedding of Jodie & Patrick
June 2008

This wedding was one of my first truely solo outings. It was a Sydney wedding with a local Canberra couple. I still adore their images and wanted to put them on the blog for you to see.
I know the couple were very happy with the images as Jodie had trouble trying to drive home as she was sneaking a peek at her albums.

Jodie's dog even got pictures taken. She's a very old pup so needed to be apart of the family photos.

The weather was not on our side, In fact it is one of two weddings i have done where it has thrown it down. It didn't deter the couple from getting some gorgeous images!

Ah old romance, the bride got the umbrella... The groom a little damp.

Is it cold in here?

Brrrrr is it cold in here or is that just me? Oh no wait Candice has arrived for her shoot! Gorgeous girl who I LOVE working with saved my life the other day when my booked model was unavailable. She came after work and we shot until the collaborating team were happy with their shots.

It just so happened that that didnt take long!

Once again Kristie from Chic Visage (new web page check it out! www.chicvisage.com) out did herself and the results speak for themselves.

I was a laugh getting Candice NOT to smile during the shoot as when she did it scared the team watching. Evil Ice Queen and smiling do not go very well together!

Collaborating with Chic Visage #2

Chic Visage has outdone herself yet again! With an electric eye make up and jungle themes it was always bound to be a LOT of fun! Hope you like the pics!

Chic Visage Shoot

About a year and a half ago now, I met a lady by the name of Kristie Maynard, only for a couple of hours while she saved my life. It was my very first photoshoot for Rockstars and Royalty and my MUA had quit a few days before the shoot.

At the last minute Kristie came in and did a beautiful job on all the girls!

A year later I ran into her again while she was doing make up for a wedding I was shooting and we got to discussing old shoots. I told her I owed her BIG time for all she did for me that day and would she like me to do a portfolio shoot- YES!

I got Julz Price together and headed over the Kristies after a couple of planning meetings for shoot day! Everything was set and the make up began... as did the hair crimping ha ha ha- Poor Julz

We headed out to Stromlo Forest in Canberra, ACT and did a late afternoon shoot.
The images speak for themselves really, Great model and flawless make up? All I had to do was take photographs and enjoy the ride! Well a little more than that but it was so relaxed and easy!

Thank you gorgeous girl! You look stunning and thank you Kristie!!! We will plot another day soon!!!!!

Melbourne Cup Rockstars and Essence Styling!

It is official!!! I now own the PERFECT Julie gown, made by the very talented Vicky at Rockstars and Royalty whom we all love here in Canberra. She makes our waists smaller and our gowns sexier than anyone else around!!! This is a highly recommended experience and expense ladies!!!
I have an official photo that shows me, Capturing Essence on the Myer fashion on the field cat walk showing it off.. hahah yeah i thought it was funny as well!

Pre race nerves had me giggling away but with gorgeous accessories, fascinator and a stunning gown I was on my way!

My make up was done by Melissa Rusconi at Rogue Avenue- http://www.roguemodels.com.au
She is divine and so lovely and easy to work with.

By the end of the long day and fun night, big brother Regan, gave me his coat and made sure I got home ok.

Their layout and web site is really easy to do and they have done a beautiful job of my listing.

Capturing Essence expands

Hi all!
Welcome back! I'm pleased- very much so to announce that CE will be now officially shooting model portfolios. Need an update of your portfolio with something a little different?
In conjunction with a local agency and freelance work the packages will start from $275 including a professional make up artist.
I do have an award winning hair stylist on board as well it just depends what you have in mind for their prices.

I have a mobile studio set up so I can come to you or we can shoot on location with lighting. Contrary to that we can select a few locations and head out for a full day of shooting. Let me know your ideas and I will quote you from there.
With a Style Crew team I can now cater for nearly anything you require. With a Stylist, Hair designer, Make up Artist and event organiser on board your concepts can be a reality all from one source.

We are ALL willing to travel too so let me know what you have in mind and we'll go from there.

Cathy & Gregs Wedding

Friday 17th October will be a very fond memory for myself. I had the great pleasure of photographing two very special people's wedding- Greg and Cathy. I met Cathy about 10 months ago at a girlfriends hens party and we hit it off, giggling away in the corner about anything and everything.
The couple were amazing on the wedding day and nearly every photo from that day has such warmth and happiness to it that they are a pleasure to look over.
My favourite one is above and as the couple haven't received the pictures I will not post anymore until they have seen them.

I hope you like the snapshot of their happiness on their special day.

What a week!

Hey all!
This week has been so hectic! 4 shoots in a week! FOUR!












It started with Dee on her purple Harley, which was very hot and the pics have come out beautifully! Thanks again to Player Haters Clothing who sent us down some gear to play with!











Then onto Michelle from Model Mayhem who we photographed in R&R gowns in a theatre- how very dramatic!
Vick created this crystal mask especially for the shoot. It is just incredible!










Next was R&R's latest advertising shoot for Vicks up and coming advertisment in the Bride's Diary.










Finally today was a shoot for Brides of Manuka's internet dress page- basically so brides can see gowns before they come in and try them. A mini portfolio.
